Philippine Bioethanol Rules Push for Domestic Feedstock

The Sugar Regulatory Administration's (SRA) order compelling bioethanol manufacturers to prioritize domestic feedstock over imports could lead to higher prices for local molasses, according to the United Sugar Producers Federation of the Philippines (UNIFED). This stems from an interpretation that the Biofuels Act of 2006 only covers imported bioethanol, not imported feedstock.
