A traffic accident involving two container trucks occurred in Stung Hav district, Sihanoukville province, Cambodia, at approximately 2:10 AM on July 1, 2026. Both large trucks were traveling in the same direction towards Sihanoukville from Phnom Penh when the collision took place. The offending vehicle, a FUSO truck (license plate Phnom Penh 3E3213, trailer plate Phnom Penh 4B0809), was driven by Mr. Khim Chantaramunny, a 30-year-old male driver residing in Peuk village, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Sihanoukville Provincial Hospital. The other vehicle, a HYUNDAI truck (license plate Phnom Penh 3G5630, trailer plate Kandal 4A0065), was driven by Mr. Suon Lot, a 38-year-old male driver residing in Phdau Chum village, Cheung Prey district, Kampong Cham province. According to the specialized police report, the accident was caused by excessive speed and a lack of caution on a winding, downhill road. The driver of the FUSO truck lost control and collided with the rear of the HYUNDAI truck. The accident did not cause traffic congestion as it occurred in the early morning hours, but it disturbed nearby residents.
