Lack of Rest Stops on Expressways Fuels Driver Fatigue, Safety Risks in Vietnam

A severe lack of standard rest stops along the HCMC–Van Phong Expressway, a vital economic corridor in Vietnam, is causing significant driver fatigue and heightening safety risks, including fatal accidents. With over 460 kilometers of road, many sections lack adequate facilities, falling short of national standards. Land clearance issues are delaying construction, and as traffic volumes surge, urgent investment in comprehensive rest stop infrastructure is critical.
