Vietnam Strengthens ASEAN Financial Integration Support Capabilities

Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province, northern Vietnam, served as the venue for crucial meetings aimed at strengthening regional financial integration. On September 14, the 32nd ASEAN Finance Integration Committee (SLC) meeting was held, accompanied by the ASEAN Financial Integration Support Capacity Building Committee (SCCB) meeting and the 11th meeting of the SLC's Sustainable Finance Task Force (SLC-TF). These sessions provided a platform to discuss concrete measures for deepening cooperation within ASEAN's financial markets and achieving more robust financial integration. In particular, the promotion of sustainable finance has become a theme of increasing importance across ASEAN in recent years, addressing both long-term regional economic development and environmental challenges. As a key member state of ASEAN, Vietnam has demonstrated its commitment to actively contributing to the advancement of regional financial integration. This aligns with Vietnam's own economic growth strategies, making cooperation with ASEAN indispensable for improving domestic financial infrastructure and adapting to international standards. Quang Ninh province has seen significant development as an economic zone in recent years, officially becoming a city on September 1, 2023. The province recorded a high economic growth rate of 11.67% in the first nine months of the year, focusing on fostering the private economy while ensuring a balance between socio-economic development and the steadfast assurance of national defense, borders, and islands. Hosting these meetings underscored Vietnam's eagerness to contribute to the region.
