17 PDF members, including 16 males and 1 female, surrender with arms and ammunition under the law

It is reported that 16 male and one female PDF members have surrendered under the law with arms and ammunition. The handover of the 16 male and one female PDF members, who returned to the legal fold, to their parents and guardians took place on September 4 at the Aung San Hall of the Southeast Military Command. The ceremony was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Thann, Commander Maj-Gen Thura Zaw Lin Soe, responsible officials, departmental officials, those who returned to the legal fold, and their parents and guardians. Subsequently, those who returned to the legal fold handed over one M-16 rifle, two carbine rifles, four 9mm pistols, one .38 pistol, one homemade pistol, four hand grenades, three walkie-talkies, six magazines, and 66 rounds of various ammunition. These were received by the State Chief Minister, the Commander, and responsible officials. Following this, the State Chief Minister and the Commander presented 150 million kyats for three automatic rifles, 500,000 kyats for one homemade rifle, 100 million kyats for five pistols, 1.2 million kyats for four hand grenades, and 600,000 kyats for three walkie-talkies, totaling 273 million kyats. Rewards and gifts were also presented to the 17 individuals who returned to the legal fold, and they accepted them. Those who returned to the legal fold signed guarantee certificates and were systematically handed over to their parents and guardians. During the ceremony, the individuals who returned to the legal fold were handed over to their parents and guardians. They included one male from Khawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region; one female from Pu Zun Ton Township, Yangon Region; one male from Hmawbi Township; one male from Hlaingthaya Township; one male from Myitchaungyi New Village; one male from Mingaladon Township; one male from Kyauktan Township; one male from Bago Township, Bago Region; one male from Waw Township; one male from Thanatpin Township; one male from Kalaw Township, Shan State (South); one male from Kyondo Township, Kayin State; two males from Myawaddy Township; one male from Ngaythsingchaung Township, Ayeyarwady Region; and two males from Mawlamyine City, Mon State, totaling 17 individuals. Those who returned to the legal fold are being welcomed and provided with necessary assistance before being handed over to their parents and guardians. It is understood that many more individuals are still willing to return to the legal fold. Those who wish to return to the legal fold are encouraged to contact their nearest district and township administrative bodies, military bases, and police stations. They will be welcomed, provided with necessary assistance, and will receive appropriate rewards for their weapons and ammunition.
