Vietnam Honors Fallen Soldiers and Contributors with Diverse Commemorative Activities

In Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam, diverse activities are being organized to express gratitude and commemorate war invalids and martyrs on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026). Party committees, authorities, political-social organizations, businesses, and armed forces across the province are actively participating. The province organized flower and incense offerings to remember President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, youth volunteers, teachers, and students who sacrificed their lives during the construction of the Ma River dike in wartime. Commemorations were also held at the Ham Rong War Cemetery in the provincial capital, the Co Phuong national revolutionary historical site in Phu Le commune, and the Dong Tam International War Cemetery in Thiet Ong commune. The Bat Mot Border Guard Station, in coordination with local party committees, authorities, departments, and organizations, cleaned and beautified the area around the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. They also visited and presented gifts to encourage war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, policy beneficiaries, and those who contributed to the revolution. Members of the delegation, along with the Bat Mot Border Guard Station, also paid tribute to martyr Vi Van Nhat, a border guard officer who sacrificed his life while combating drug crimes. Other border guard stations along the mainland and coastal borders also organized flower and incense offerings to commemorate heroes and martyrs, and visited and presented gifts to families of war invalids, martyrs, and contributors. It is reported that for this year's 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, in addition to fully and promptly delivering gifts from the President to eligible individuals, Thanh Hoa province has allocated nearly 45 billion VND from its budget. The provincial party committee, authorities, people of local areas, and the business community are visiting and presenting gifts to contributors and their relatives throughout the province. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, in coordination with the Cinematography Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related agencies, is implementing a Film Week to commemorate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, serving the public. The younger generation, together with the Youth Union, has organized the restoration and presentation of portraits to relatives of martyrs, held gratitude meals, and collaborated with local authorities and the Buddhist Sangha to conduct memorial services and candlelit tributes to heroes and martyrs at large cemeteries within the province.
