Vietnam Counters 'Fabricated Information' on Beliefs and Religion, Stresses National Stability

For many years, the domain of beliefs and religion has been a strategic target for hostile forces and reactionaries, who exploit it to incite political and social instability and engage in anti-government activities. In response, the Communist Party of Vietnam, while guaranteeing freedom of belief, prioritizes the maintenance of national security and social order. It expresses strong vigilance against the spread of "groundless, intentional fabrications" concerning beliefs and religion, striving to eliminate their influence. Based on this policy, the government is promoting the implementation of the "Law on Beliefs and Religion" and updating related policies and regulations. Furthermore, to foster harmony among ethnic groups and communities, dialogue sessions are being held with ethnic elders, village chiefs, community leaders, influential figures, and prominent religious dignitaries. Recently, General Nguyen Trong Nghia met with such community representatives to seek cooperation in national unity and development. Under Vietnam's one-party system, beliefs and religion are considered important elements contributing to social stability. However, external interference and separatist movements by domestic minority groups have always been subjects of vigilance. The government is committed to managing and supervising the healthy development of beliefs and religion through legal frameworks and public awareness campaigns, ensuring they contribute to national development and the improvement of people's lives.
