Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology Reviews Regional Development Policies and Future Plans

Phnom Penh, July 21, 2026-- His Excellency Bun Hean, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, led the second meeting to assess the results of the implementation of commune/sangkat development policies for 2022-2027 and to set development directions for commune/sangkat development for 2027-2032, at the Ministry's headquarters. His Excellency the Secretary of State emphasized that this meeting is crucial for gathering input from all relevant technical departments regarding the core work and strategic plans of the Ministry to effectively support commune/sangkat development for the 2027-2032 mandate, ensuring it is implemented efficiently and in accordance with actual conditions. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology is actively fulfilling its role in monitoring, managing, and developing water resources to achieve the goal of providing sufficient water supply to all sectors, while also actively contributing to the Cambodian government's policy of poverty reduction. Concurrently, the implementation of the strategic development plan in the water resources and meteorology sector is also important in supporting the commune/sangkat development policy for 2022-2027. This has achieved significant successes in ensuring food security and reliably preventing natural disasters, which is a source of pride.
