Cambodia Enhances Labor Law Knowledge Through Training to Stabilize Labor Relations and Boost Productivity

The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training of Cambodia continues to strengthen the knowledge of labor law among factory administrations, employee representatives, and trade unions. On July 30, 2026, a training session on labor law provisions was inaugurated in Kampong Chhnang province, co-chaired by H.E. Tui Sipan, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, and H.E. Chin Seng Ngoun, Deputy Governor of Kampong Chhnang Provincial Administration. The training, organized by the National Institute of Labor and Vocational Training of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, saw the participation of 255 trainees from enterprises, companies, and factories in Kampong Chhnang province. The objective is to enhance the capacity and knowledge of stakeholders to better understand labor law and related legal documents. This understanding will contribute to more effective performance of the roles and responsibilities of administrations, employee representatives, and trade unions, thereby ensuring legal compliance and promoting work productivity within each enterprise. The training focused on three main topics: general working conditions, implementation of labor contracts, and labor dispute resolution mechanisms. These are crucial for facilitating relations between employees and employers, with the goal of preventing and reducing labor disputes that could affect production chains. During the event, H.E. the Secretary of State emphasized that developing labor law knowledge among stakeholders is a significant investment in human capital, supporting national social and economic stability. He also urged all trainees to diligently absorb the knowledge and closely cooperate with technical officials to jointly address workplace challenges promptly, professionally, and transparently.
