(July 29) During the Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) Education & Leadership Trip to New York City – PAR Research program, youth leaders and researchers met with Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, at the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the United Nations in New York City. During the meeting, the youth leaders had the opportunity to learn about the UN's main responsibilities, its role in global peace and security, sustainable development, and international cooperation. Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun urged the youth to prioritize and diligently pursue education, as they will become the leaders who will guide their communities and the future of the world. The delegation, led by BACI President Elaisa Vahnie, was welcomed by the Permanent Mission of Myanmar. The program is being held as part of BACI's Upward College Summer Scholars Program. It is known that this program has been implemented annually since 2011 with the aim of promoting research, policy solutions, and innovation.
