Four Cambodian Youths to Represent Nation at ASEAN Youth Summit 2026 in Philippines
Four Cambodian university students have been selected to represent the Kingdom at the ASEAN Youth Summit on Digital Resilience and Responsible Use of New Technologies in Manila, Philippines, from August 4-7, 2026. The summit aims to enhance digital literacy and foster responsible digital citizenship among ASEAN youth.
Four Cambodian university students have been selected as youth delegates to represent the Kingdom of Cambodia at the ASEAN Youth Summit on Digital Resilience and Responsible Use of New Technologies. The summit is scheduled to take place from August 4 to 7, 2026, in Manila, the Philippines, according to the General Directorate of Youth of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. The four Cambodian youth representatives are Ms. Phan Phanmannavy, a student at Limkokwing University of Cambodia; Ms. Bunroung Sonika, a student at the American University of Phnom Penh; Mr. Choeun ThaiKhang, a student at Pannasastra University of Cambodia; and Mr. Ek Socheatratnak, a student at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. The ASEAN Youth Summit 2026 aims to strengthen the digital resilience of ASEAN youth by promoting analytical digital literacy, online safety, and civic participation in the digital environment. It also seeks to enhance youth leadership in supporting ethical digital governance, protecting data rights, and fostering social responsibility. Furthermore, the summit aims to encourage dialogue within the ASEAN region to collectively address digital inequality, online vulnerabilities, and the spread of fake news. Ultimately, it endeavors to create regional commitments and cooperation frameworks to protect youth in the context of digital transformation and empower them to become innovators, leaders, and positive change-makers for their communities and the ASEAN region. The General Directorate of Youth also stated that the participation of the Cambodian youth delegation in this regional forum will contribute to enhancing their capabilities, leadership, and the exchange of experiences with ASEAN youth, thereby strengthening cooperation in building an inclusive, safe, and sustainable digital future for the ASEAN region.
