Upon examination at Hlaing Thar Yar People's Hospital, it was found that the girl had signs of rape, which is contrary to natural sexual intercourse, and had bruises all over her body. On July 6, the perpetrator of the incident was apprehended in Nattawlin Township, Bago Region. The accused, Ye Win Paing, confessed to raping and murdering the girl.
