Cambodia's fresh durian exports to China are experiencing a significant surge following the opening of a new land route via Laos. On July 25, 2026, Pechenda Fruit Production shipped three containers (over 50 tons) to the Chinese market, marking a new export pathway.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced that Cambodia's fresh durian exports to the Chinese market are continuously increasing. On Saturday, July 25, 2026, H.E. Khun Pheanong, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, presided over the launch ceremony for the first shipment of three containers (approximately over 50 tons) of fresh durian by Pechenda Fruit Production Co., Ltd. to the Chinese market via the land transport route passing through Laos. This signifies further new achievements resulting from the ministry's efforts to facilitate the opening of markets and transport routes through Laos for the export of "Cambodian fresh durian" to China. As of July 24, the total export volume of fresh durian from Cambodia to China has reached 5,738.24 tons, an increase of nearly 40 times compared to the total export volume in 2025.
