A passenger car carrying a female tourist slipped off the road near Prenn Pass (Đèo Prenn) in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, on September 15 around 10 AM. The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Hanoi, was en route to a cafe popular with tourists. The incident occurred on a concrete section of road near Phong Niên cafe in Xuân Hương Ward, at the foot of Prenn Pass. The car slid off the road and plunged down a pine-covered slope. Fortunately, a large pine tree on the slope caught the rear of the vehicle, preventing it from falling further down the steep pass. The car reportedly slid for about 10 meters before coming to a halt. The female driver was unharmed. Cafe staff and tourists at the scene assisted with the rescue. The car was left half-embedded in the slope, at a height of over 15 meters from the road below. The vehicle sustained minor damage. Rescue forces later used a specialized vehicle with a crane to bring the car back onto the road. Prenn Pass is a 7.27 km long, vital route connecting National Highway 20 with Da Lat. It is known for its scenic beauty, winding through pine forests along mountain slopes and green valleys.
