Cambodia's PIPV Institute Offers 1,300 Scholarships for Vulnerable Youth

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Preah Vihear Institute of Technology (PIPV) in Preah Vihear Province has announced the provision of 1,300 scholarships for vocational training in 10 different fields. This initiative, supported by the government, aims to benefit young people from impoverished and vulnerable families, including monthly stipends. The 10 vocational skills offered include construction work, building electrical wiring installation, electrical welding, cosmetic services, home air conditioning equipment services, vehicle maintenance and repair, beverage business, vegetable and fruit processing, men's hairdressing services, and Khmer cuisine. According to PIPV, from November 2023 to July 20, 2026, a total of 5,918 young individuals from poor and general families have received scholarships under the Prime Minister's "1.5 Million People Vocational Training Program." Among them, 4,849 are from poor and vulnerable families. Furthermore, the institute plans to open new courses and will begin accepting registrations from today.
