Despite volatile global oil markets due to Middle East geopolitical tensions, Vietnam's Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical (BSR) achieved its highest revenue since inception, exceeding 100.9 trillion VND in the first half of 2026.
Vietnam's Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical (BSR) has recorded its highest production and business performance since its inception, with revenues exceeding 100.9 trillion VND in the first half of 2026. This achievement occurred amidst significant volatility in the global oil market, driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. This performance highlights the strategic importance of the refining and petrochemical sector as a key national industry within Vietnam's one-party system. BSR plays a crucial role in the country's energy security, and its profitability contributes to the stability of the national economy. The company has also received a request from the provincial government of Quang Ngai to intensify its production and business efforts to help the province meet its central government-assigned budget targets. This underscores BSR's significant role in local economic development and the achievement of national fiscal plans. Furthermore, BSR is accelerating research and development into biodiesel fuel, aligning with Vietnam's efforts to address environmental challenges and transition towards renewable energy sources. This initiative is consistent with the government's policy of balancing economic growth with environmental protection. BSR also showcased numerous representative products at the 2025 Autumn Fair, promoting its technological capabilities and product range. The company actively engages in corporate social responsibility, including a donation of 1.2 billion VND to support the recovery of schools affected by floods in Thai Nguyen province. Its Innovation Center has signed a cooperation agreement with the Quang Ngai Department of Science and Technology, aiming to foster technological innovation and regional industrial development. These activities are part of broader efforts to promote scientific and technological advancement and contribute to local communities across Vietnam.
