Thai Senator Accepts EC Decision to Forward Election Rigging Case to Supreme Court

Senator Alongkot Warky, one of the 26 senators whose cases have been forwarded by the Election Commission (EC) to the Supreme Court for alleged election rigging (hawa) in the Senate elections, has announced his readiness to comply with the legal proceedings. He stated that the EC's decision is "in accordance with the law" and declined to comment on his lawsuit preparations, while expressing acceptance of the EC's judgment. He noted that the decision on how many candidates to forward is within the EC's authority and that he would abide by any summons or orders for suspension of duties from the court, emphasizing that no one is above the law. Regarding the embrace he received from fellow senators in the Senate chamber, Alongkot denied the existence of any secret LINE group, explaining it was merely for "comforting each other and fostering friendship."
