Pattaya municipal officers and beach lifeguards rescued an intoxicated woman found lying beside a busy road. While conscious and refusing hospital transport, officials used the incident to highlight the dangers of public intoxication near traffic and urged public assistance calls.
PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya municipal officers and beach lifeguards stepped in to help a woman found lying face down beside a roadside after heavy drinking left her unable to get up, raising concerns she could be struck by passing vehicles. The incident was reported when Pattaya City officials and beach lifeguard personnel discovered the Thai woman in an intoxicated condition near the road. Fearing she could be injured by passing traffic, officers immediately approached and checked on her condition. The woman was conscious and told officials that she did not wish to be taken to hospital. Authorities reminded the public that people who become heavily intoxicated in public areas can face serious risks, particularly near roads and busy tourist zones, and encouraged anyone witnessing a person in danger to contact local emergency services.
