Online fraud and gambling group arrested in Namkham Village, Thipaw Township, with business equipment

It is reported that individuals involved in online fraud and gambling have been arrested along with their business equipment in Namkham Village, Thipaw Township. The government is prioritizing the investigation, detection, prevention, and deterrence of those committing online fraud and online gambling as a national duty. It is also reported that effective investigations, detections, arrests, and legal actions are being carried out in coordination with neighboring countries. While these efforts are underway, based on information provided by responsible citizens that perpetrators of online fraud and gambling were residing near Namkham Village, Thipaw Township, in northern Shan State, joint teams including security forces conducted investigations and searches in the area. As a result, around 5:45 AM on September 15, from within a house, 8 male and 1 female Chinese nationals, and 1 male and 3 female Myanmar nationals, totaling 13 individuals involved in online fraud and gambling, were arrested along with a Type-81 rifle, 60 rounds of ammunition, 4 magazines, 22 various mobile phones, 1 laptop, 4 Starlink sets, 1 12V battery, 2 solar batteries, 6 solar panels (620W), 1 solar panel (420W), a brick-built, zinc-roofed building measuring 50 feet in length and 30 feet in width, two zinc-built, zinc-roofed buildings measuring 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width, and other related business equipment. It is reported that the arrested individuals involved in these online fraud and gambling operations will be prosecuted in accordance with existing laws after the necessary investigations are completed, and the seized business equipment will be further processed according to procedures.
