Pia Cayetano clarifies Singapore trip to support national Padel team

Senator Pia Cayetano on Friday clarified that her trip to Singapore was to support the Philippine Padel National Team in preparation for the Asian Games, and not an attempt to hide. "I intentionally went to Singapore for the tune-up game before the Asian Games," she said in a Facebook live, adding, "People are asking where I am, as if I am hiding. I am not hiding; I have nothing to hide from." The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that Senator Cayetano and her brother, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, had left the country a few days prior, fueling speculations about their departure. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano is currently under investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for alleged anomalies in the country's hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), where he headed the organizing committee.
