Cambodia's Gendarmerie Marks 33rd Anniversary with Meeting for Veterans

In Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, on July 13, 2026, Colonel Meas Yot, Commander of the Kampong Cham Provincial Gendarmerie, held a meeting with veterans on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Gendarmerie (July 14, 1993 - July 14, 2026) at the conference hall of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. The event was attended by 63 officials, including deputy commanders, deputy chiefs of staff, and heads of the seven departments of the Provincial Gendarmerie. Among them were 30 individuals comprising retired soldiers, disabled veterans, and families of fallen soldiers. During the occasion, Colonel Meas Yot conveyed greetings from General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Gendarmerie. He emphasized that attention is always paid to visiting sick soldiers, those facing difficulties, disabled veterans, and the families of fallen soldiers across all provinces, and to ensuring their health. Colonel Meas Yot further stated that the Gendarmerie actively participates in providing assistance and rescue to citizens facing hardship, not only to retired soldiers, disabled veterans, and families of fallen soldiers. Colonel Meas Yot wished the retired soldiers, disabled veterans, and families of fallen soldiers the blessings of long life, good health, and strength. He also presented gifts to the 30 individuals, including one small bag of rice, one bottle of fish sauce, one bottle of soy sauce, one case of purified water, one case of instant noodles, and 100,000 Riel in cash each.
