Kampot Province Conducts Major Donations to Buddhist Temples
On July 21, 2026, Member of Parliament Hun Virak in Kampot Province donated rainy season candles and other offerings to seven Buddhist temples across three communes in Kampong Tralach district. This is part of a broader initiative to support all temples in the district.
Dr. Hun Virak, a Member of Parliament representing Kampot Province, along with his working group, on July 21, 2026, presented rainy season candles and other offerings to seven Buddhist temples in three communes of Kampong Tralach District. These included Wat Phnom Krong in Chhuk So Commune, Wat Trapaing Chum, Wat Srah Chak, and Wat Tuol Preah Ream in Sae Commune, as well as Wat Thom Damrei Sao, Wat Samraong Russey, and Wat Sandech Chau Fa Choun (Wat Sampo) in Ta Jes Commune. This marks the second phase of donations to temples in Kampong Tralach District, which has a total of 30 temples. The first phase supported six temples, and this second phase has covered seven. Dr. Hun Virak and his team will continue to visit the remaining 17 temples to provide similar support. The donations were made possible with the participation of Mr. Nhem Vally, Deputy Head of the Working Group for Local Development in Kampong Tralach District, and Mrs. Oknhar Ing Lygang, CEO of Phen Ly Soy Sauce Enterprise. The contributions included a pair of rainy season candles, 100 kg of rice, two cases of instant noodles, two boxes of canned fish, two bottles of soy sauce, one bottle of cooking oil, 1 kg of sugar, two cases of mineral water, two cases of orange soda, one pack of tea, one pack of coffee, one bundle of incense, one small candle, and 800,000 Riel in cash.
