Phnom Penh Governor Encourages More Foreign Legal Investments
Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng, speaking at the official opening of the LAVIA HOTEL, urged more foreign investors to engage in legal investments, citing their crucial role in boosting Cambodia's economy and tourism. He pledged full support from the Phnom Penh administration to achieve national goals, including becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030.
Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng has encouraged foreign investors to increase their legal investments in the capital city, emphasizing that such contributions are vital for Cambodia's economic growth and the expansion of its tourism sector. Governor Sreng made these remarks on the morning of September 18, 2026, while co-chairing the official inauguration ceremony of the LAVIA HOTEL with His Excellency Nguyen Minh Vu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The hotel is located in Tonle Bassac commune, Chamkarmon district, Phnom Penh. "The establishment of LAVIA HOTEL in Phnom Penh is a correct decision," stated Governor Khuong Sreng. He assured that the Phnom Penh administration fully supports investments and guarantees security and safety for all investors. He added that this is a sign that will attract more tourists to visit Phnom Penh and Cambodia. Governor Sreng further noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia has achieved development across all sectors, maintained economic growth, attracted tourists and investments, and is working towards the vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. He stressed that to achieve further success, all citizens must unite to preserve peace at all costs. The Governor urged for greater efforts in disseminating information and attracting investors to invest legally in Cambodia, reiterating the Phnom Penh administration's readiness to provide continuous support. Ly Ying An, General Director of Ly An MC Co., Ltd., stated that LAVIA HOTEL is a 4-star hotel with 79 guest rooms, a restaurant, a conference hall, a banquet hall, a sky bar, a steam room, and a swimming pool, all offering luxurious amenities. Ly Ying An added that the establishment of LAVIA HOTEL contributes significantly to promoting Cambodia's tourism sector and creating jobs for the Cambodian people.
