Thailand and Indonesia Elevate Economic Cooperation with 4 MOUs

Thailand and Indonesia have elevated their cooperation by signing four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at strengthening economic ties. The agreements cover potential areas aligned with the economic development trajectories of both nations. The MOUs were exchanged in Jakarta, Indonesia, with Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul witnessing the ceremony. This event took place following his keynote speech at a Business Forum. The four MOUs signed are: 1. MOU to promote Thai tourism, between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and PT Trinusa Travelindo (Traveloka Indonesia). 2. MOU for strategic marketing, communication, and tourism cooperation, between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa Indonesia). 3. MOU for carbon market cooperation, between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce. 4. MOU for economic cooperation, between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. In addition to the MOU exchanges, the event also marked the official handover of the approval for the name change of Maspion Bank to PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia Tbk. This was approved by the board of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority on July 13, 2024. The investment by a Thai bank in Indonesia signifies the confidence of the Thai business sector in Indonesia's economic potential and growth prospects, representing a significant step for Thai financial institutions in expanding their regional presence and economic connectivity. The government spokesperson from the Prime Minister's Office stated that these agreements are tangible outcomes of the Thai-Indonesian relationship, aimed at driving cooperation across various dimensions including tourism, economy, trade, finance, and investment.
