Union Minister for Electric Power and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin attended the opening ceremony, and made a speech, saying that increasing electricity supply is essential for the country's development and stressed that Myanmar is seeking to diversify its energy sources beyond hydropower and natural gas. He highlighted solar power as a key renewable energy source and encouraged both grid-connected solar projects and household solar systems. Around 475 participants attended the event.
