Indonesia's Sovereign Wealth Fund Danantara Reports 400% Revenue Surge in 1.5 Years: Prabowo
Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, has achieved a remarkable 400% revenue increase within its first 1.5 years of operation, as announced by President Prabowo Subianto. This highlights a broader trend of improved profitability across state-owned enterprises.
President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Nusantara (Danantara), has achieved a remarkable revenue growth of 400% within its first 1.5 years of operation. Speaking at the 28th anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PAN), Prabowo highlighted this as a significant accomplishment for the current administration. He stated that Danantara, the first institution in Indonesia's history to centralize and manage the nation's wealth, has successfully consolidated all state assets, leading to a substantial increase in income. "Danantara, for the first time in Indonesian history, Indonesia now has Danantara, the strength of all our state wealth is centralized, consolidated, and its income has increased by 400% in one and a half years," Prabowo remarked, as quoted from PAN TV's YouTube channel on Friday (18/9/2026). Prabowo emphasized that the revenue increase of Danantara is tangible proof of the government's achievements. On another note, Prabowo also mentioned that the average profit growth of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has exceeded double digits. He cited examples such as PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), which he said managed to turn losses into profits with a growth of 252%. "PT Pupuk, which has experienced losses for a long time, now its profits have increased by 252%. PT Pupuk Indonesia has risen," he explained. In addition, Prabowo stated that PT Perkebunan Nusantara (Persero) also recorded a profit growth of up to 54%, PT Pertamina (Persero) achieved a profit growth of 86%, PT Pegadaian also saw a profit increase of up to 84%, and PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk even rose by up to 400%. These figures are presented as evidence of the government's ability to improve the financial performance of state assets and contribute to national economic development.
