Egypt to Grant Visa on Arrival for Vietnamese Citizens

Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohamed Abou Bakr Saleh announced on September 10, local time, at a ceremony celebrating the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cairo, that Egypt has decided to grant visas on arrival for Vietnamese citizens. This decision comes amidst a stable and encouraging increase in the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Egypt. According to a correspondent from the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in Cairo, Deputy Minister Saleh stated at the ceremony that Egypt highly values the growing interest from the business community in investment and tourism opportunities between the two countries. He explained that the decision to grant visas on arrival reflects Egypt's commitment to promoting tourism exchanges and strengthening people-to-people interactions between the two nations. Deputy Minister Saleh emphasized that tourism is one of the key sectors driving Vietnam-Egypt relations. The facilitation of visa procedures is expected to further boost tourist flows between the two countries and enhance exchange and cooperation activities. Notably, this confirmation was directly made by a high-ranking official from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at an official event attended by Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong, ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and international guests in Cairo. Egypt is a significant tourist destination in the North African region, boasting famous landmarks such as the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, the capital city of Cairo, and numerous other historical and cultural heritages. In recent years, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Egypt has shown an upward trend, contributing to the promotion of people-to-people exchanges and the expansion of tourism cooperation between the two countries.
