Vietnam’s Press Freedom Rank Drops Further Under To Lam’s Administration
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) ranks Vietnam 174th out of 180 countries in its 2026 report. Since To Lam took office as General Secretary, the Communist Party has tightened media control, further intensifying crackdowns on independent journalists and expanding cyber surveillance.
