Floods, whirlwinds in northern Vietnam cause casualties, economic losses

Severe weather, including floods and whirlwinds, in northern Vietnam has resulted in one death, two injuries, and five missing persons. Economic losses are estimated at approximately VND 255 billion (nearly USD 9.7 million), with Lai Chau province bearing the brunt of the damage. The government has ordered enhanced disaster prevention measures.
