Myanmar to continue promoting peace and development through its own process

The new elected government will continue to promote peace, stability, and the development of the country through Myanmar's own process led by Myanmar, stated U Min Aung Hlaing, Head of State, Agga Maha Thray Sithu, Agga Maha Sri Sudhamma, in a message sent to ASEAN citizens on the occasion of the 59th ASEAN Anniversary. As a member state of ASEAN, it will continue to cooperate with the ASEAN family of nations for regional peace, stability, and prosperity, respecting ASEAN's fundamental principles, the message stated. It is understood from the message that ASEAN's successes over the past 59 years are the result of mutual respect, trust, responsibility among member states, and the consistent adherence to the fundamental principles of ASEAN centrality and the ASEAN Charter, based on the spirit of the "ASEAN Family." It was also stated in the message that it is necessary to continue to maintain these strong foundations and build a resilient, innovation-promoting, sustainably developing, and people-centered community in accordance with ASEAN Vision 2045, based on the principle of "leaving no one behind." Similarly, the message stated that all member states are urged to jointly continue to maintain and promote ASEAN's unity, centrality, and fundamental values to further enhance the quality of life of the people in the region. On this occasion of the 59th ASEAN Anniversary, it is wished that all ASEAN citizens will continue to maintain unity and the ASEAN Family spirit, and cooperate more actively for peace, stability, and prosperity, the message also stated.
