Thai Athletes Receive Over 54.4 Million Baht in Asian Games 2026 Incentives

The Thai contingent at the Asian Games 2026, held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, has received over 54.4 million baht in incentives as of September 23, following their continuous medal wins. These incentives are supported by the Thai government, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Sports Development Fund, and the Sports Authority of Thailand. They are allocated to athletes, coaches, and sports associations based on their performance. Prior to September 23, between September 20-22, the Thai team had secured 6 medals (4 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), resulting in a total incentive payment of 30.9 million baht. This was divided as 21 million baht for athletes, 3.6 million baht for coaches, and 6.3 million baht for sports associations. The performance included 3 gold medals in Teqball, 1 gold medal in Mixed Martial Arts, 1 silver medal in Karate, and 1 bronze medal in Women's Volleyball. On September 23, Thailand added 6 more medals (1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze), bringing the total to 12 medals (5 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze). The gold medal came from the Equestrian team event, with the four athletes receiving a total of 8 million baht. Silver medals were awarded to Woraprat Ch Sitchuj in Equestrian Eventing (individual) and Isarapa Imprasertsuk in Shooting Skeet (women's individual), each receiving 1 million baht. The three bronze medals were secured by Teerapat Klangthong in Karate (men's over 84 kg), Suranjana Khambao in Weightlifting (women's 53 kg), and the Men's Badminton team.
