Authorities seized over 156 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.06 million in Pangasinan, leading to the arrest of two individuals. Police emphasized the confiscation as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking in the region.
CALASIAO, PANGASINAN, Philippines — More than 156 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth about P1.06 million were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Pangasinan, leading to the arrest of two suspects. The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1) said a buy-bust operation in Pozorrubio on Wednesday, August 5, led to the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of about 100 grams of shabu. The office emphasized that the arrest was part of their continuous efforts to eradicate illegal drug trafficking in the region. On the same day, another operation in a different location resulted in the arrest of another suspect and the seizure of about 56 grams of shabu. These seizures are part of the Philippine government's ongoing war on drugs, aimed at eradicating the proliferation of illegal substances, which is being conducted nationwide. The illicit trade of shabu remains a significant social problem in the Philippines, with law enforcement agencies intensifying their crackdown. Unraveling the channels of supply, particularly from abroad and domestic manufacturing routes, continues to be a challenge. Source: Inquirer NewsInfo
