
Cambodia Officially Enforces Military Conscription Law; Evasion Carries Prison Sentence
Cambodia officially enacted its military conscription law on May 23, 2026. The law, comprising 8 chapters and 20 articles, stipulates prison sentences of six months to two years for draft evaders during peacetime, and two to five years during wartime. The conscription applies to males aged 18 to 25, while women are subject to voluntary service.
