Vietnamese Youth Voluntarily Enlist in Military Service
In Da Nang City, Vietnam, an increasing number of young people are voluntarily enlisting in military service ahead of the 2027 conscription period, reflecting a strong desire to contribute to the nation and a sense of responsibility.
In Da Nang City, central Vietnam, there is a growing trend of young people voluntarily enlisting in military service ahead of the official conscription period scheduled for 2027. This movement is gaining attention as a testament to the enthusiasm and sense of responsibility among youth towards contributing to national construction and defense. Recently, Ms. Do Thi Kim Van from Phu Thuan commune, along with her twin sons Dinh Van Tinh and Dinh Van Thuan (both born in 2008), submitted their voluntary enlistment applications for 2027 to the Phu Thuan Commune Military Command. Ms. Van expressed her deep emotion and pride that her sons, having shared their childhood and growth, have now made such a meaningful choice to serve the nation. The sons also expressed their hope to further develop and gain valuable experiences for their future in the military environment. Similarly, in Nam Phuoc commune, twin brothers Pham Ngoc Hieu and Pham Ngoc Thuan (both born in 2008) have also volunteered for military service in 2027. Lieutenant Doan Anh Cong, Deputy Chief of the Nam Phuoc Commune Military Command, lauded their actions as demonstrating youth's initiative, sense of responsibility, and aspiration to contribute, inspiring other young people in the locality to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland. Nguyen Quoc Anh Khoa (born in 2005), a second-year student at Da Nang College of Medical Technology, was eligible for deferment of military service in 2027. However, driven by patriotism and a desire to contribute, Khoa decided to take a leave of absence from his studies to enlist. In his voluntary application, Khoa wrote, "I want to dedicate a part of my youth to the Fatherland. This is a precious experience I wish to undertake." Cao Van Truong (born in 2003), who graduated with a degree in Information Technology Engineering and had numerous job opportunities, also voluntarily submitted his application to serve in the military, expressing a desire for long-term service. A representative from the Nong Son Commune Military Command stated that over 10 voluntary applications for 2027 have been received from local youth. Officials from the Da Nang City Military Command noted that the continuous surge in voluntary enlistments signifies the effectiveness of awareness campaigns by various authorities and organizations, highlighting the patriotic spirit and sense of responsibility of the youth. This trend is considered a crucial foundation for successfully carrying out the conscription and enlistment tasks for 2027. Source: Nhan Dan
