Prabowo Urges Public Servants to Introspect, Serve the People

President Prabowo Subianto has urged all state apparatus, from bureaucrats to military, police, and prosecutors, to introspect their roles as public servants in carrying out their duties and responsibilities to the people. "I ask us to introspect, especially the bureaucrats. I see many bureaucrats here. Bureaucrats, let's introspect, all of us. Military and police officials, introspect," Prabowo said during the inauguration of five dams centered at the Meninting Dam in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday (10/7). In his address, the Head of State reminded that state officials are public servants, and all facilities and positions attached to them originate from the people. "You are the people's, your stars are from the people, your shoes are from the people, your hats are from the people. Never forget that. The prosecutor's office is also like that. You are a prosecutor, right? You also wear stars. You are also the people's," he said. The President also asked all state apparatus in government, bureaucracy, ministries, and institutions to make improvements, be self-aware, and not go against the will of the people who desire a clean government free from corrupt practices and fraud. Prabowo emphasized that the people do not want corruption to be tolerated or various forms of fraud to continue in the governance of the state. "To state apparatus, to state officials who are in government, in bureaucracy, in every ministry, in every institution, let us together improve ourselves, correct ourselves," Prabowo stated. "I don't want to look back, but I implore you to improve yourselves, be self-aware. Do not go against the will of the people. The people do not want corruption to be tolerated, the people do not want frauds to continue," he asserted. Furthermore, Prabowo mentioned various achievements the government has made in a short time, despite facing various challenges, including resistance from groups he referred to as "corruptors." The President affirmed that law enforcement against corruption must be carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures. According to Prabowo, the law must be enforced fairly and apply to all parties without distinguishing their position, strength, or economic background. "Sometimes I face these corruptors, but it must be in accordance with legal procedures. Yes, we will carry it out, we will enforce the law, and the law is for everyone, not just for the strong, not just for the rich," Prabowo emphasized.
