Can Tho Accelerates Green and Sustainable Tourism Development

Can Tho City, the central hub of Vietnam's Mekong Delta, is actively promoting sustainable tourism development, aiming to balance regional economic revitalization with environmental conservation. Beyond conventional sightseeing, there has been a growing interest in recent years towards experiencing the local culture, distinctive culinary traditions, and rich ecological environments. In response to these demands, Can Tho City has positioned "Tay Do Cuisine" (Tay Do being the former name of Can Tho) as a signature tourism product, actively promoting its appeal both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, the city is strengthening international cooperation, particularly with South Korea, to enhance collaboration in investment, trade, and tourism. Promotional activities in Thailand are also underway, demonstrating a proactive approach to attracting international visitors. The city is also focusing on developing diverse tourism products and is considering the establishment of new flight routes as a catalyst for tourism growth.
