Thailand to Launch Volunteer Military Service "Tahaan Arsa" Program to Boost National Defense and Youth Careers
The Thai government will introduce the "Tahaan Arsa" (Volunteer Soldier) program in the 2027 fiscal year, transitioning from conscription to a volunteer system. The initiative aims to strengthen national defense by offering income, skill development, education, and career opportunities to young people. Applications will open in September 2026.
