Thai Cabinet Approves Agricultural Ministry Personnel Reshuffle, Wittaya Appointed Director-General of Royal Irrigation Department

The Thai Cabinet has approved personnel changes for nine senior positions within the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and related agencies, as reported by the Royal Information Service (INN). Key among the appointments is the reshuffling of four high-ranking officials within the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Narumon Sanguanwong will move to become the Director-General of the Sericulture Department, Saranyu Poollap will be appointed as the Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation, and Wittaya Gaomee will be promoted to the Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department. Suriyapong Nuchanong, the current Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, will be transferred to the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry. Furthermore, five senior officials will be appointed effective October 1, 2024, to fill vacancies due to retirements and upcoming mandatory retirements. These include Thiti Lohapiyapan and Phongthai Thaiyothin as Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Chaiwat Yotkhun as the Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, Ing-orn Panyagij as the Secretary-General of the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards, and Thitiporn Laoprasert as an Inspector-General of the Ministry.
