Vietnam's Youth Showcase Robotics Talent in National Competition

Regional qualifiers for the 6th National Robotics Creativity Competition are generating significant excitement across Vietnam, with hundreds of young participants demonstrating their skills in robot design and operation. The Central Youth Union, in coordination with relevant agencies, organized these events, which commenced on September 13, 2026, at Vinh University in Nghe An Province and Dong Nai University in Dong Nai City. The competition aims to foster interest in science and technology among Vietnamese youth and cultivate their creativity. Participants are showcasing their ability to develop and operate innovative robots using artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technologies, fields that have seen rapid development in Vietnam in recent years. Investment in AI and robotics is expanding in Vietnam, with educational institutions focusing on training specialists in these areas. Vietnamese students have achieved high rankings in international robotics competitions in the past, and this contest is expected to serve as a foundational platform for nurturing such talent. Teams that advance from these regional qualifiers will proceed to the national finals. Under Vietnam's one-party system, state-led promotion of science and technology is a key pillar of economic growth, and youth development is a strategic move towards achieving long-term national goals. Furthermore, while maintaining economic ties with China, Vietnam has been accelerating investment in technological innovation to diversify its supply chains.
