Vietnam Aviation and Space Association Elects New Chairman, Boosting Scientific Advancement Hopes

The Vietnam Aviation and Space Association (VASA) re-elected Dr. Pham Ngoc Lang (Major General, Associate Professor) as its new Chairman for the 2026-2031 term at its 5th Congress. Dr. Lang also serves as the former Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. This re-election is expected to accelerate efforts to promote scientific and technological advancement in Vietnam's aerospace sector, particularly in fostering scientific thinking among young people. VASA is deepening international cooperation through initiatives such as stimulating students' scientific curiosity by utilizing NASA's open data and signing cooperation agreements with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Under Vietnam's one-party system, the development of science and technology is positioned as a key pillar for national modernization and economic growth. The aerospace sector, in particular, is an accumulation of advanced technologies and is indispensable for enhancing the nation's technological capabilities.
