Narathiwat Checkpoint Attack: Arrest Warrant Issued for One Suspect as Investigation Progresses

The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Command announced today (July 25) that progress has been made in the investigation into the attack on a checkpoint in Narathiwat province earlier this week. An arrest warrant has been issued for one suspect, and another individual has been summoned for questioning. The attack, which occurred on Wednesday night, resulted in the deaths of five rangers and injuries to six civilians. The court approved the arrest warrant for Mr. Azizun (surname withheld), a resident of Chanae subdistrict, Chanae district. He already has an outstanding warrant issued on March 8, 2025, for a shooting and bombing incident in Su-ngai Kolok municipality, Su-ngai Kolok district of the same province. Furthermore, Mr. Mahamasri (surname withheld), residing in Sai Buri district, Pattani province, was summoned for questioning and has been taken to the interrogation center of the 46th Ranger Regiment Task Force. Authorities are actively gathering evidence, expanding their investigation, and tracking down remaining fugitives to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
