Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Central Luzon Amid Persistent Monsoon Effects

Several areas in Central Luzon are under a yellow heavy rainfall warning on Wednesday afternoon due to the continued effects of the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat,” according to the state weather bureau. In a weather advisory issued at 2 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, and Tarlac under the warning. This signifies that between 7.5 millimeters (mm) and 15 mm of rainfall may prevail within the next two hours in these specific areas. Meanwhile, Pagasa also stated that Metro Manila, which was previously under a yellow rainfall alert, may only expect light to moderate with occasional heavy rains within the next three hours.
