Cambodia Gears Up for High School Exams: Security and Order Paramount in Svay Rieng Meeting

Svay Rieng province in Cambodia is strengthening its preparations for the high school graduation examination (Diploma of Secondary Education Examination) scheduled for August 10, 2026. On the afternoon of August 7, a preparatory meeting was held at the provincial hall, led by Governor Peng Pousa and Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and National Examination Committee Chairman Bui Bunna. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor, Director of the Provincial Hall Administration, Deputy Provincial Police Commissioner, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Gendarmerie, heads of relevant ministries and departments, the Mayor of Svay Rieng City, representatives from the Anti-Corruption Unit, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Governor of Svay Chrom District, directors of departments and units under the Provincial Hall, principals of schools serving as examination centers, and numerous other relevant officials. Discussions at the meeting focused on establishing security, safety, and order maintenance systems at each examination center. Measures will be implemented to prevent the copying of examination questions in any form, the sale of answers, internet-based businesses, and the use of electronic devices related to the examination. Cooperation will be sought from businesses operating near the examination venues to temporarily suspend their activities during the exam period. Furthermore, efforts will be made to coordinate with hotel and guesthouse operators and food vendors to prevent price gouging for accommodation and food for candidates and examiners. Arrangements will also be made for secure parking of bicycles and motorcycles for candidates, and coordination with pagodas providing food and lodging to candidates will be undertaken. These measures are intended to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2026 examinations.
