Vietnam Among Asian Countries with High Repeat Visitor Rates

Vietnam has been ranked fourth in Asia for repeat visitor rates, trailing only Japan and Thailand, according to a recent analysis of tourist revisit rates in the Asia-Pacific region. This indicates that Vietnam possesses an appeal that attracts repeat visitors, going beyond being just a transient tourist destination. Malaaysia has overtaken Thailand to become the most-visited country in Southeast Asia. Driven by relaxed visa policies, major infrastructure upgrades, stronger regional connectivity, and major international events, Malaysia welcomed a record 42.2 million foreign visitors in 2025, marking an 11.2% year-on-year increase. In the first half of 2026, it recorded 21.12 million international visitor arrivals, a 2.5% increase from a year earlier. The Malaysian government is strengthening its tourism strategy by targeting high-performing markets such as China, Indonesia, Japan, and India to sustain growth in visitor arrivals. The country also offers durian tour packages and all-you-can-eat durian buffets to enhance visitors' experiences. While Vietnam's tourism sector may not be experiencing the same explosive growth as Malaysia, it continues to show steady progress.
