Cambodian National Assembly Approves New Ta Keo Constituency Representative

The Cambodian National Assembly on September 21, 2026, approved the validity of HE Sok Peng as the new Member of Parliament for the Ta Keo constituency, replacing HE Chan Sarun, who passed away. This decision was made during a plenary session held on September 21, 2026, at the National Assembly building, presided over by Samdech Mahathir Moha Sena Padei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia. A total of 104 members of the National Assembly attended. During the plenary session of the National Assembly, the 6th session of the 7th legislature, four important draft laws were also discussed and approved: * Draft law on the approval of the Protocol to Amend the Charter of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. * Draft law on the approval of the Convention on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). * Draft law on the approval of the Agreement between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Russian Federation on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters. * Draft law amending the Law on the Status of Lawyers. These approvals reflect the National Assembly's commitment to strengthening domestic legislation and international cooperation.
