French Media Exhibits Photos of Thai-Cambodian Conflict, Highlighting Heritage Damage and Civilian Impact

French journalist Jean-Luc Moreau Deleris is exhibiting photographs depicting a hypothetical Thai military operation against Cambodia at the "Visa pour l’Image" photojournalism festival in Perpignan, southern France. The exhibition, held at Couvent des Minimes from August 29 to September 13, features images with captions stating they "caused severe damage to Angkor-era World Heritage properties and affected innocent Cambodian civilians." In his contribution to Le Figaro Magazine, Moreau Deleris describes a scenario where Thailand attacked Cambodia in 2025, annexing parts of Cambodian territory. He claims that Thai artillery and heavy weapons inflicted severe damage on numerous ancient Angkor-era temples, including Preah Vihear Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The report indicates that this hypothetical conflict resulted in many deaths and forced thousands of families to flee their homes.
