Cambodia Elected Vice-Chair of UN LDC Working Group for 2026-2029 Term

Cambodia has been elected as the Vice-Chair of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Working Group for the term from September 2026 to September 2029. The decision was made during a meeting of LDC Ambassadors held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on September 2, 2026. Ambassador Keo Chhea, Cambodia's Permanent Representative to the UN, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in Cambodia and commended Nepal for its leadership and efforts in advancing the interests and priorities of the LDC group during its chairmanship. Ambassador Keo Chhea highlighted Cambodia's readiness to work closely with the Gambia, as the Chair, and other members of the Office to actively and effectively contribute to strengthening the collective voice of the LDCs. This includes preparations for the mid-term review of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA), scheduled to take place in Doha in March 2027.
