Thanh Hóa Province Responds to "Red Journey" Campaign, Honors Blood Donors

Thanh Hóa Province, Vietnam, on July 24, organized a large-scale blood donation event and honored volunteer blood donors as part of the "Red Journey" (Hành trình Đỏ) campaign. This initiative aims to promote humanitarian spirit and address blood shortages in medical facilities. The "Red Journey" campaign, now in its 13th year, has collected over 1 million units of blood nationwide, significantly alleviating blood shortages, especially during summer months. This year's national campaign has already gathered more than 21,000 units of blood. Thanh Hóa Province has consistently participated and this year issued plans early, intensifying awareness activities among residents. Consequently, nearly 10,000 units of blood were mobilized within two months, ensuring timely support for emergency treatments and medical care. For the 14th "Red Journey" campaign, themed "Giọt Hồng xứ Thanh" (Thanh's Red Drop), over 2,000 officials, employees, youth union members, students, armed forces personnel, and volunteers gathered at the Thanh Hóa Conference Center. In the morning alone, more than 1,000 units of blood were donated. In recognition of their noble contributions, the Thanh Hóa Red Cross Society presented certificates of merit to 8 collectives, 2 families, and 41 individuals for their outstanding volunteer blood donation efforts. Prior to the event, organizers and volunteers conducted mobile awareness activities about blood donation and thalassemia. A memorial service for national heroes was also held at the Hàm Rồng Cemetery in Thanh Hóa.
