Worker Falls from Heavy Machinery at Cargo Terminal, Suffers Severe Left Leg Fracture

Phnom Penh: At 12:37 PM on August 6, 2026, a 29-year-old male worker, Noun Nimal, sustained a severe fracture to his left leg after falling from heavy machinery at the Tech Srorn dry port. The incident took place in Trapeang Pou village, Chom Chao III commune, Por Sen Chey district, Phnom Penh. The victim, an employee of Tech Srorn dry port, resides in Kaoh Kock village, Kaoh Dtum commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham province. According to sources at the scene, prior to the incident, the injured man had climbed onto the heavy machinery (a loader) while it was carrying goods. The driver then started the engine to move it. At that moment, the man jumped off, but unfortunately slipped on engine oil, falling under the rear tire of the loader, which crushed his left leg, causing a fracture. Following the accident, the urgent rescue team 711 of the 70th Infantry Division responded, rescued the man, and transported him to Preah Kossamak Hospital for immediate emergency treatment.
