Cambodia's Angkor National Polytechnic Institute Opens Doors to High School Students for Skill Development and Career Exploration

The Angkor National Polytechnic Institute (NPIA) in Cambodia is offering guided tours for high school students to help them understand their potential, specialized training programs, practical skill acquisition, and future employment opportunities. This initiative aims to empower students to confidently decide on their academic and career paths, aligning with labor market demands and national development needs. Specifically, on July 23, 2026, over 200 twelfth-grade students from Kampong Kdei High School and Varin High School visited NPIA. They learned about the technical specializations offered by the institute and toured classrooms, workshops, and the equipment used for learning and teaching. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, stated that providing such visitation opportunities is part of the ministry's efforts to encourage young people to gain a clearer understanding of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). TVET is presented as an option for building sustainable skills, careers, and income, in line with Cambodia's economic and social development needs. "First, it is to provide them with additional choices. Second, it is to let students know their potential, and it also serves to show them the potential of the nation, which is the demand of our society," Sun said. According to Sun Mesa, during their visit to the technical and vocational training school, students witnessed the learning process, practical applications, modern equipment, and future job prospects, which helped them gain confidence in choosing a suitable study path for themselves.
